Contemplative Psychotherapy & Coaching
Mark Glasgow Johnson, MFT, PC
Welcome to a Buddhist approach to healing,
growth, and dharma-inspired parenting
I see clients in my office in Charlottesville three days a week, and see some therapy/coaching clients who live at distance on HIPAA compliant video platforms, like Zoom, one day a week.
My specialty is in helping people who want to include their spiritual life in their approach to growth and healing. Having many years of experience as a counselor and spiritual practitioner, I offer a unique service to people willing to dive deep into the roots of pain for healing — and reach the heights of living through realizing their potential.
There is an artful balance between the yin and yang of the material and spiritual worlds, and it is possible to cultivate a consciousness of humility and ethics, while still reaching our heartfelt goals of love, creativity, security, and community.
This is no easy task, and sometimes we need the insight, feedback, and support of a helper who is caring and knowledgeable.
Someone who can sit with us under the 'Wisdom Tree,' who can help us find the resources within ourselves, the awareness, compassion, and wisdom that is too often locked inside.
Someone to help us move from
coping to high functioning,
from egotistical to humble,
from over-thinking to clarity and intuition,
from severity to humor and lightheartedness.
Happiness is not a simple thing. There are many levels. In Buddhism, for instance, there is a reference to the four factors of fulfillment, or happiness: wealth, worldly satisfaction, spirituality, and enlightenment. Together they embrace the totality of an individual's quest for happiness.
