This website and my therapy and coaching are dedicated to my teacher, the late Lama Pema Dorje Rinpoche. Rinpoche passed on July 5, 2018 and is profoundly missed by all who knew him well.

Without Rinpoche's kindness and faith in me, I would not have found the deeper level of commitment and devotion to practice I now enjoy, nor would my life in the material world be as happy and fulfilled.

Rinpoche was instrumental in encouraging me to not give up on marriage when mine had fallen apart, to become a father even though it was late in life, to have faith when the creditors were barking at my heels, and to begin Ngondro practice while living in the world, raising a family, married, and working a difficult job.

Throughout our relationship he was always supportive, even when ‘reducing’ my ego and its complaints.  By inviting me and my family into his house, and simply sharing his life and insights, he modeled for me how to live in both worlds gracefully. Whether it was his playing with my daughter, or the laughter he shared with his wife, Kunsang, and with us, or his shifts into moments of gravitas when teaching, it all transmitted that precious quality of the Buddha nature.

I am, of course, grateful to my family for their support, especially my wife, Paz, and my daughter, Amalia, all of my friends in the sangha, all the teachers I have had the good fortune to meet, and to all of my coaches, mentors, and supervisors over the last thirty years who have shown me how to help others.

"Since everything is but an illusion,
Perfect in being what it is,
Having nothing to do with good or bad,
Acceptance or rejection,
One might as well burst out laughing!"

What Clients Are Saying

"Mark is an amazing coach with the added bonus of having over 25 years of experience as a professional therapist. I had the privilege of being coached by Mark as part of our training with International Coach Federation. During one of the most personally challenging seasons of my life, Mark was able to keep me centered and focused on what i needed to press through it all. His presence was authentic and full of compassion. His questions and council were spot on, always mindful of the importance of moving forward. I highly recommend Mark as a coach for anyone who desires to reach more of their potential and greater results in their lives."
